Last night, I went to see The Mousetrap at the Chemainus Theatre, along with my dad and my uncle. It's a murder mystery play that's been running for over 60 years, written by Agatha Christie. It was really good.
I can't tell you much about the play. It's a tradition for people to keep the outcome of The Mousetrap a secret from anyone who hasn't seen it. You'd have to see it yourself to find out the truth, and if you do, please keep the events of the play to yourself. In fact, when the actors took a bow at the end, one of them actually made the whole audience take an oath.
The intermission happened immediately after the victim was killed, which gave us a chance to speculate possibilities. I've read enough Agatha Christie novels to have guessed at least part of the truth correctly, but the play still had enough twists to surprise me.
Overall, I had a great time at the theatre. I'm glad I went.
